Album - Deftones - "Saturday Night Wrist" In a perfect world Deftones discography would read Adrenaline, Deftones, Around the Fur, Saturday Night Wrist and then White Pony. This seems like a backhanded compliment but no band has ever topped themselves easily. Brian Wilson never made another Pet Sounds, REM has never made another Murmur but come close with ATFP and here Deftones have just missed eclipsing their masterwork White Pony. However, they've still made a stunning album in spite of Pink Cellphone. Anyone that's heard things from them that they liked should definitely check out the tracks Cherry Waves, Kimdracula, Combat, Mein and Xerxes.

Song - Rodney O and Joe Cooley - "Everlasting Bass" Despite my best efforts rap music is creeping into my kids psyche. Therefore, I'm reaching back into my foggy memories of skating rinks and mini trucks to recall all the great jams my friend Chris and I use to rock. There's many to choose from and I'm sure some of them will make their way here so I won't reveal them all. This may very well be my favorite rap party jam of all time.

Thanksgiving

I might make a return to my hometown of Sacto for the holidays if I get this Friday off. You all better hope so since I know you miss me so much. I hope we can squeeze in an hour of B Ball in there somewhere it's been months since I've even touched a basketball. I'm also craving Spaghetti Factory since they don't have one in Reno but we do have Sonic Burger, have they built that mother fucker in Natomas yet????

I can't wait to see Leon's offspring so I can inform the child of the Deftones indisputable brilliance. I hear a kids mind is impressionable and I think it's true cuz my kids are smart asses just like me.

Welcome

Well after 33 years my family and I have made the move to Reno, Nv. So far I'm diggin it but we'll see after the first snow hits either tomorrow or monday if this opinion changes. Without a creative outlet for the time being I've decided to attempt not to be the last person on Earth to have a blog and it appears I will at least be successful in this quest. As any who know me will attest I am a huge Deftones fan which is where I've coped the name from however I think this phrase from "Passenger" is universal. In this life we all have that is far too short we are simply "Lucky Witnesses" to our adventure. I hope you all are having a great ride and making the most of it, I certainly am trying. For the first time I feel like I'm on my own ( though with wife and kids in tow) and it's invigorating. Christ that makes me sound like a 40 year old woman who's newly single. Anyway much more later.
